About Alicia

Alicia Hansen is a Cleveland born, raised and educated marketing professional, writer and event producer. 

After growing up in her mother’s catering business, Alicia earned a degree in Theatre from Baldwin Wallace University and worked for ten years in non-profit fundraising and event management.  Her early career event credits include food and wine events including the Cleveland Magazine Silver Spoon Awards Party, 5Ks such as the Jingle Bell Run/Walk for Arthritis, galas like the festivities surrounding Tom Hanks at The Hanna at Great Lakes Theater, and more. In 2011, Alicia was honored by CBC Magazine as the first recipient of the Connector’s Choice Awards Rising Star Award as a member of the Arthritis Foundation staff.

Alicia led L’Nique Specialty Linen’s marketing efforts for five years while remaining an active part of Cleveland’s special event and hospitality professional network. After starting at the company in July 2015, she played an integral role elevating the brand awareness of the organization with recognitions like L’Nique’s Top Workplaces awards from The Plain Dealer in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019, and their Smart Business Magazine Smart Culture Award in 2017. In January 2020, she was the featured presenter at ILEA (International Live Events Association) Cleveland’s first sold out event, “Let’s Get Social: Effectively Utilize Social Media To Grow Your Business.”

When the COVID-19 pandemic decimated the global events industry, Alicia pivoted to providing freelance social media, email marketing and copywriting services via her business, Alicia Hansen Creative. Her clients included several event-based companies around Northeast Ohio including Colortone Staging and Rentals, Making the Moment and Borrow Rentals'; other hospitality-focused businesses including Lather, Laurentia Vineyard  & Winery, Legacy Village and The Summer Market; and national nonprofits like the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. In May 2022, she was the featured presenter of WISE Cleveland's “Navigating The Virtual World” virtual networking event.

Much of Alicia’s interest, knowledge and expertise in marketing and social media comes from her decade-long experience as a blogger and influencer. She founded her blog, aliciamhansen.com (formerly Poise in Parma) in October 2009. In the past, Alicia also regularly contributed to the Playhouse Square KeyBank Broadway Series’ Behind the Curtain blog and Cleveland Plus’ Be The Plus blog.

Today, she serves as an Event Curator for Palmer Event Solutions in Cleveland, Ohio. Since joining the team in June 2022, she’s had the pleasure of working with Northeast Ohio non-profits including the American Heart Association, Drink Local Drink Tap, Esperanza, MedWish International and Near West Theatre.

In her spare time, Alicia teaches indoor cycle, bike bootcamp and yoga, including classes at Ryze + Grind Fitness (formerly GrooveRyde) and pop-up yoga experiences around Northeast Ohio including on the patio at Flight Cleveland. She lives in Independence with her husband, Hans; their seven-year-old daughter, Brenna; and their Golden Retrievers, Frank and Olive.
